The tragedy of September 11 has caused many people around the world to reflect and to come to realize what is important in life. We cannot dwell on this terrible event but see the message that has been given to mankind. Too many walls have been erected. Our children and their children can bring these walls down as they are the common thread that will hold the world together.

The seven children depicted represent the Seven Continents of the world, coming together. The bubble off-center upper left holds the image of the Western Hemisphere while the bubble off-center upper right portrays the Eastern Hemisphere. The clothes of the children are in primary and secondary colors, making the statement that we must get back to the basics by taking care of our land and our children. In front of each child is a balloon that is a complimentary color to the color of the outfit that child is wearing. This is my way of saying that each culture is important & diverse and should be respected. The little girl offers a daisy for peace and as an emblem of innocence and youth. The light area top-center is a ray of hope. These little people are our future and it is they who can bring down the walls that have been erected in today's world.

"Countries Coming Together" is my tribute to the events of 9-11. It is a vision of all Nations coming together as one. It is a vision that allays a sense of hope and enlightenment.
